About The Enterprise Academy

The BCFC Enterprise Academy, now into it’s third year, aims to deliver information, advice and

enterprise activities to Key stage 2 through to 5.

Using the Birmingham City FC brand we give young people a unique insight

into how a football club works and introduce them to the basic principals of business through a range of

interactive learning opportunities.

Participants will work towards nationally recognised qualifications tailored to reflect abilities and age range. We seek to identify specific requirements to national curriculum and work closely with the participants to help them to achieve their objectives.

Over the last two years the Enterprise Academy has engaged over 1,000 young people, over 800 of which have achieved a qualification from the academy. These Figures are constantly increasing, which is vastly increasing the popularity of the Enterprise Academy making it one of the most recognised within the West Midlands.

“The project has been beneficial to the students, it has effectively tied in with what they have learnt on their OCR Business Studies Course. It has also provided details of a real-life case study that is of huge importance to students when it comes to putting theory learnt in the class into practice. The content within the course (football-focused) helped to effectively engage some students who might otherwise have misbehaved.

As a School we strive to achieve Outstanding results at GCSE-level. The ability to put theory into practice is of huge importance to our students and as such the course was truly beneficial as it related to the GCSE course content to a high extent.” - Craig Stokes, Business Department, St Peters Catholic School
